A new acacia column processing machine developed within the framework of the tender has been completed. An improved version in the structure of the new machine compared to the prototype operating at the site of EUROPA UNO Kft. The column processing machine, which is unique in its operation, will speed up and make acacia processing faster by replacing manual processing, while at the same time producing a higher quality column end product. The automatic operation of the machine will be ensured by a custom-developed software, which will start testing the new machine after its installation.

The next step in the development of the acacia column processing machine is the development of software that automates the operation of the machine by triggering manual control of the machine. The software will automate the following features: Starting and stopping. Removing the debris part (milling) following the natural curvature of the wood. Finishing the surface perfectly with the sanding heads. Software testing is currently underway on the prototype, and will continue on the new machine once the hardware portion of the new, upgraded machine is ready.

During the past years, EUROPA UNO Kft have created the prototype of the newly developed machine, which is successfully functioning in everyday work with human assistance. Within the project, the Croatian partner, EKO B&S is responsible for the automatisation of the new machine with a newly developed software, which regulates the depth of cutting for removing sapwood, the grinding and follow the natural curves of the wood. Thereby the processing of the poles is automatised and more effective. In October 2020. together with the Croatian partner EKO B&S d.o.o., the development of a new, innovative machine for processing white acaia poles started within the Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia 2014-2020 Cooperating Programme, B light Grant Scheme. The idea of an automatised machine for acacia poles processing came alive due to the demands of the market, ged rid of the faults of hand processing and raising of processing capacity. White acacia is an excellent wood for children’s playgrounds and for other outdoor constructions, outstandingly durable, flexible and resistant against environmental effects. However, the hand processing of acacia is difficult and time
