In October 2020. together with the Croatian partner EKO B&S d.o.o., the development of a new, innovative machine for processing white acaia poles started within the Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia 2014-2020 Cooperating Programme, B light Grant Scheme. The idea of an automatised machine for acacia poles processing came alive due to the demands of the market, ged rid of the faults of hand processing and raising of processing capacity. White acacia is an excellent wood for children’s playgrounds and for other outdoor constructions, outstandingly durable, flexible and resistant against environmental effects. However, the hand processing of acacia is difficult and time consuming. The developed machine within the project among others will increase cut depth, grinding quality, processing speed and can be automatised with a software. While with hand processing 5-6 poles can be produces daily, with the new machine this quantity may raise to 30-40 poles per day. Besides, the end product is much better quality, therefore its market-value is also higher.
EUROPA UNO and EKO B&S companies are both active in wood industry. With this joint project a new, innovative tool may appear on the market, which can revolutionise the processing of acacia.
